"I came to Melbourne first as a working holiday after finishing my military service. What I thought while working was ‘I want to study more’.” After a year, I came back to Korea, finished all necessary preparations and went to Australia again. I have many semesters left until I graduate and I’m having a hard time studying, but that one year was such a valuable time for me.”

"I ate a pasta in an ordinary restaurant in Italy, and it was extremely delicious. I thought that I won’t be able to make a pasta taste like this. I thought why and the answer was difference in culture. Although we don’t know exactly how to make kimchi, we roughly know it. Since we know best about our culture, we can cook the best Korean dishes. Ironically, I went Italy to learn Italian food and decided to make Korean food that I know the best.”

"I just came to Melbourne without a plan. I wanted to work as a barista as I did in Korea, so I visited cafes here for 2 weeks with my resume. Luckily, I am working in a cafe now. 6 months has passed since I came here and now I feel that I killed three birds with one stone; learning English, life in Australia, and working as a barista.”

"I’m thinking about having a tattoo. Something without any meaning. If there is a meaning in the tattoo, I might regret later. A friend of mine always has a tattoo without any meaning. Then he makes the meaning of it.”

“That’s a great shift in the way of thinking. I have always worried about it but now I can have tattoo.“
